I'm totally in favor of backups for just about everything.  How do these backup batteries work exactly?  I'm not acquainted with them for iPhones.

I have to agree with you on this. Back up batteries are necessary all the time. And we have to use the specially designed ones for this particular series as a general back up battery won't perform efficiently as expected.

They're jsut like regular batteries you just slip them out when you need a new one.
