I forgot my iPhone 3GS password & I wanted to restore it but when I connect it to iTunes I get This message "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone "Naif's iPhone" because it is locked with a passcode on the iPhone befote it can be used with iTunes"

Now is my iPhone stucked (there's just Apple logo) and neither my PC nor iTunes can detect it. Is there any way of restoring it without iTunes?

MY IPHONE 3GS HAS FROZE AND IT DOSENT TURN OFF AND ON THE SCREEN IT COMES UP AS THE ITUNES LOGO AND A USB CABLE
