Well, the iPhone is in Alaska; people are using it there. Am not sure about winter time though, because I don't live in Alaska. :) I guess someone from Alaska will be able to answer your question.
Thats a great question was wondering the same thing living in a northern climate. Will the screen freeze up when it gets really cold? Do I have to keep the phone near my body?
As far as I know you can use them generally in all parts of Alaska. However it would be better if you do some back checks on iPhones minimum operational temperature as it might come in handy for you.
