Nice to know the people at Apple are so concerned about the environment when it comes to some of the features with this phone. No pvc in the handset, headphones or usb cable. No mercury in the display and most of the packaging comes in recycled materials.
Yes, I was happy to hear the news. It is good that Apple had started and initiated a trend which would only do the world good. Further it might also set a trend for other mobile manufacturers to follow the model.
Go green, That's good news from apple, Yes I observed that the packaging was made of recycled materials and the iPhone itself made it clear that it is environment friendly.
I think its sort of funny that there is all this talk about how Apple is going "greener", yet there is no easy and environmentally friendly way to recycle all the old 3G phones they will be getting back when the 3GS is launched!
This is the usual trend and companies which do not support this trend will run out of their business soon. Apple has understood the value of going green. hence it is a good option and people can be proud to use a green product.
You know, that was an interesting point someone made here in a response about the recycling of old phones. What we need is a leader to give a credit or something for people to return their old phones and then arrange for the recycling of those old phones. Now that would be a company supporting green.
