Decided to share this, since it saves you time (and maybe some money), and also shows you a few of the 3G S's new capabilities. I like being able to type in a landscape format, that's one reason I like the Blackberry so much

This just bugs me beyond belief.  I really hate how companies come out with something new that isn't compatible with the old things that you have already spent money and energy on.  So then you have to spend more money to get your new product up to speed with your old one. Crooks.

As a programmer, I can say that this isn't done intentionally most of the time. Oftentimes, the entire firmware needs to be overhauled, and because of that, things can behave in an unpredictable fashion.

In other words, not locking those out can result in a bricked iPhone.
