the new 3G S is said to be using ARM Cortex-A8 processor core. Will the old apps run on it? Poor Taste?

Yes... since it also uses Imagination's PowerVR SGX graphics core to retain compatibility with the existing apps.

Yes, I've heard that the processor design for both phones are similar!

It might be similar, but not the same! Pre uses processors built by Texas Instruments!

This info would really pit the 3G S against the PRE... as it is, they are being pitted against each other in countless articles, specs by specs comparison, etc!
