Well, I've heard that apps developers are excited with the 3G S, especially the game developers! Poor Taste?

I agree with this, with the better and faster processor, the higher RAM and the OpenGL ES 2.0, it's bound to be a better gaming device than both the iPod Touch and earlier iPhones.

I've read that the new graphics core has 7x the geometry throughput compared to the iPhone 3G and and more than double the fill rate.

Yeah, I'm not the least bit surprised at that. Games have become a huge medium, and people like to have that entertainment available all the time, so the easier it is to do, the happier the people in the game biz are.
