I do hope other networks offer the iPhone 3G S. I think AT&T sucks as a provider. For one, AT&T's network doesn't support the 3G S mobile broadband speed of 7.2Mbps. AT&T only has 3.6!
I hate AT&T too, but it's mostly due to their customer service! They don't know anything and are sometimes rude. Especially when they can't answer your questions and you ask them a lot of times.
They all have their pluses and minuses. I agree that the speed is a big difference right now and I'm not defending at&t by any means. At the same time, we're progressing so fast that I would imagine it takes a while to catch up.
Only 3.6? Is downloading at 360kilobytes a second slow or something? That's enough speed for me to download a high-resolution photo in roughly 7 seconds, or to watch a YouTube video at high quality without waiting for any length of time.
Besides, there's a limit to how much a small machine can handle, go over that, it's a waste of money.
@aries wren: yes, there is only so much that a small device can handle, the thing is... the small device can handle TWICE what the AT&T network can get... ironic isn't it? so it's a waste to have all that capability when AT&T can't provide the platform to use that capability.
YES!! finally someone whose intelligent!! AT&T does suck as a provider. I wished they had the iPhone for Verizon. but luckily they have the EnVs 3 and Touch. I'm just gonna go for those.
AT&T was my favorite coverage plan for a while then all of a sudden they dropped us. Their excuse was we were using too many minutes on outside towers, and they don't charge roaming... Wasn't my fault! I wish other companies would hurry up and get this awesome phone!
