iPhone 3G S is faster!

As you all know, the S in 3G S means speed. I've heard that the new phone is twice as fast than its predecessor. Can anybody confirm? Poor Taste?

I can confirm it. It is a good bit faster in all aspects than the previous model, and runs a lot smoother. I wouldn't say it's twice as fast, but there is a definite improvement.

That's what Apple is saying in all the blitz they have for the new phone. And I'm more likely to believe them.

While I agree with you that it will be a bit faster than the previous 3G, and it will run smoother... I'm curious as to how you based your answer?

The greatest improvement the 3G S have over the 3G is that Web pages now load quickly. With the faster processor, loading time for Web sites have been significantly improved! Or so Apple says :)

Graphics like pics and videos are also improved in terms of speed. This is because the 3G S supports OpenGL ES 2.0
