I tried looking it up, but I found nothing. Speculation ranges from 20,000 rupees to 30,000 rupees, so it might be around that range.

I don't think that this will be available in India at the moment. So it's too early to tell just how much it would cost.

That's true. The 3G S will be initially avaialble in U.S., Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, and the U.K.

Am not sure about that. The phone costs around $200 in the US with a subsidy from AT&T. I think a comparable phone sells for $599 (Palm Pre)... what's the exchange rate in India (Rs to $)?

The exchange rate is roughly 47 rupees to the US dollar, according to the exchange rate on Yahoo Finance. So at 30,000 rupees, that works out at... over $600. Damn, that's pretty expensive, you would be better off just importing it I think.
