The iPhone 3G S now has a directions feature where you just key in the address you want to go to and it would give you step by step directions on how to get there fast, also giving you the distance and the amount of time you need to get there.
You mean just like Tom Tom or mapquest.com online? That would be wonderful. Is there a way that it remembers your home address or any default address you prefer? Or do you have to keep entering the starting address?
