It's supposed to stand for "Speed". Apple unveiled the new iPhone last Monday saying that it's twice as fast than the 3G

That's cool. Speed. I can't wait to find out if its true or not. This has been touted as the best, fastest iPhone ever.

But what I find notable with the 3G S is the memory, 32GB! That's sure quite a lot and a welcome addition too! Am getting sick of erasing my music from my 8G iPhone!

Well, I just can't wait for the video camera :) At last! We'd be able to take videos with the 3G S

I wonder how the iPhone could get any speedier. It performs way better than most Nokias I've seen, and am talking about the iPhone 3G not 3G S.

LOL!!! It's funny how I never cared what the S (and a bunch of other letters in certain other gadgets) stands for until this post. Thanks for letting me know now!

S can also stand for Superior. Quite a few ranking systems, especially in some Japanese games, have S, or multiple S's as the highest rank. So that could be it as well. Either that, or it's a random letter tacked on the end. | | Poor Taste?

You know, I was just talking about that before I saw this post. It's the time it takes to launch applications that bugs me. I hate the load delays, and this is supposed to be 2x quicker. Speed works for me.

It is the speed ofcourse. It is faster launching applications or rendering Web pages.
The iPhone 3GS has a new processor built-in. Apple claims that it is up
to two times faster than the previous generation: Launching messages is
2.1 faster | | Poor Taste?
