My cousin Blaine told me that the new iPhone 3G has an anti-theft device. But she's so flakey it's hard to believe her at times. Anybody know if this is true?
I am not sure. But if it does come with an anti-theft device that would be great! We've all heard about all these iPhones getting swiped and then your personal information, pictures and other files being splashed on the Internet.
Nah, probably a rumor. I mean short of chaining the phone to your body, or a remote siren, I don't think there'd be a way to install an anti-theft device on the iPhone or any phone for that matter!
Actually, no. While not exactly an anti-theft device, the iPhone 3G S is said to have a Find My iPhone feature. If you lose your phone, you will be able to go to MobileMe and find it on GPS. If it has been stolen, you can remotely erase your data on your phone keeping it safe.
Ahahahahaha I totally had an image of the iPhone turning red and flashing lights and sirens and squirting some stinging burning juice out the side! I realize thats not what happens but it would funny!
I believe the anti-theft is somehow tied in with the GPS component; it's supposed to protect any data on the phone as well. I don't have the details, but that's my understanding.
